For some reason, there is a natural human aversion to dust. Dust actually looks weak and unthreatening, and “death by dust” is almost laughable. Although it may be usual to think that dust is harmless, a housewife, on spotting some dust, will immediately pick up a damp cloth and wipe it away. Obviously, some deep rooted instinct of nature is at work.

There are many beautiful people and events we experienced. Kindness. Generosity. Graciousness. Courage.

There are sad events which crossed our path, and, of course, negativity in our dealings with people. Selfishness. Extreme Greed for money & control. Then there are the sick and the depressed ones who suffer in their shadows.

We were commissioned to do some FN'B Feng Shui Assessment in our recent Shanghai trip. The location is Super Brand Mall in PuDong, Shanghai. It is in THE location in downtown PuDong where it is the only mall facing the circular pedestrian bridge “东方浮庭” being constructed to serve pedestrians of the golden circle of the banking, financial and administrative district. The circle will connect the human traffic of LuJiaZui Road, FengHe Road and Century Avenue.

Anyone would have thought the Super Brand Mall stands to gain as the only main shopping mall at the connector. But it doesn't seem like it. Sales in this mall has dropped 15-20% since construction work started.
Not all Feng Shui application even those that use 'famous' techniques are applied correctly or sentimentally for protection and sustainability of Qi.

Designed by San Yuan Master and yet the location of main doors and water features are not at Xuan Kong and Flying Stars recommended locations. How could that be?

We had a discussion on Facebook and I touched on the subject of "tree being in front of an entrance". Interestingly, this afternoon, we had enough of my home-cooked Hainanese Chicken Rice so we went for Chinese dim-sum in Chinatown of Perth. And, I observed some Feng Shui to share on this subject.

The moment I stepped into the restaurant I knew that something was not right about its Feng Shui. Despite a full crowd, its Feng Shui ain't 'perfect'. As practitioners, it is our job to judge the quality and capacity of a premise's Yin-Yang all the time. Call it a occupational hazard. As I missed the visual inspection of the door, I walked out and took some photos.

This is a hilarious Reuters chat between 2 of our friends based in Hong Kong and Singapore. They are Southeast Asian Chinese banker and trader who manage multi-millions trades. Between them and a mainland Chinese on the side whom the trader consulted, they couldn't figure why most of Asia is closed for holidays. They have graciously allowed me to post this blog in jest.

(I will post an article on the Chinese Calendar or the (Luni)solar Calendar later to answer their queries.)

Reviews are absolutely necessary in a responsible Feng Shui audit.

Otherwise, how would we know if the Feng Shui we did have effected a positive and tangible difference in the occupants specific areas of concern? I still do not see competitions making it a point to stress the importance of Reviews or implementing it as their SOP, in a transparent manner. However, we do see after-sales support is now being marketed by a few competitions. As long as these are not lip service, that is a real good first step for the end consumers.
